An Unofficial Website dedicated to English actor James Beck best remembered for his role as Private Joe Walker in the popular BBC comedy series Dad's Army.

 

The talented and diverse actor appeared in many tv and radio shows and acted extensively on stage. During his time with York Repertory Company James Beck performed in plays, musicals and pantomines including A View from the Bridge, The Merchant of Venice, The Entertainer and King Henry IV Part I and II.

 

A very promising career was cut tragically short when James died in 1973 at the age of 44.
